Days Inn

I wasn't a guest here. I was on a ride-along with Henrico police department for a college class when we responded to a reported break-in attempt at this property. A neighbor had called. The manager didn't even come talk to us about the suspects in custody, which surprised me. The place looked run-down inside and out. Seeing how little the manager seemed to care about the hotel, I can only imagine how little the customers matter. I wouldn't stay here.

The front desk employee was nice when we asked for another room around 7:30 in the morning. She said she'd contact the GM and get back to us, but when I stopped by at 1 pm, she said she couldn't reach the GM and the GM wouldn't be back until Monday. We returned around 5 to collect our things and turn in the keys, and the GM was finally at the desk. She was incredibly rude when I explained why we were leaving. Earlier, our first room had a broken AC, roaches behind its front panel, and just one working light. The other lights were broken or missing, and there was no trash can. The second room had no chairs for the table, no nightstand, phone, fridge, or microwave. The toilet didn't work, its knob had come off, and it wasn't bolted to the floor. The AC only worked after we flipped the breaker, then kept the room around 80 degrees with a really annoying noise at night. If we turned it off, the temperature shot up, so we tried to sleep through the noise. We also ran into friends who had stayed there. They crossed the street for food and were chased on their way back by four men with guns who were trying to rob them. That was the last straw. The room wasn't livable. Please don't stay here.

Hey, give it a little time. My dad bought this dump and is fixing it up, and it won't be a Day's Inn anymore. It looks awful right now, and homeless people had been staying there. I'm in the parking lot now and scared someone might get me. Just don't come yet. It'll be rebuilt in about a year, and I'm excited.

Don't stay here. The place is dirty, like it hasn't been vacuumed in years. There was no toilet paper, and the bathtub was dirty too. It needs to be condemned.
