Comfort Suites Helena Airport

After a long day on the road, this was a last-minute stop, and I'll make it my first choice in Helena next time. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the amenities were better than I expected. Staff were genuinely friendly and helped with my questions. The highway access was good, and I could walk to a 24-hour grocery store for a late snack. It cost a bit more than some other places, but felt worth it.

We paid for the room until 11, but when we came back from getting coffee around 9, housekeeping had already started cleaning it. We were only there for one night, so there was no reason to clean before checkout. We'd left around 8 and planned to use the room longer, but instead had to figure out where to go before our flight. Not cool.

The room and staff were good, but I was extremely disappointed that I couldn't use the fitness room before 6:00 AM. Access to that facility is one of the reasons I choose hotels, and I had to leave early the next day, so I couldn't get my workout in. If access uses the room key card, let guests into the fitness room whenever they need it, 24/7.

The breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I've had. Everything was hot and fresh, especially the gravy and scrambled eggs. The staff were great about working with our unusual situation, and I liked the setup enough to recommend it. Like in most hotels, I wish there were better insulation between floors to cut down on noise, and that rooms got cleaned automatically each day.
