L&N Bed and Breakfast

The manager kicked my partner out of the lobby while they were four months pregnant and left them out in the freezing cold. He was impatient and tired of waiting for payment, even though he’d been told it would be there in a couple of minutes. That’s unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

The place is gorgeous, but the man was nasty to me. My card was declined, so I explained why I needed to go get money for it. I’m four months pregnant, and he got angry and kicked me out into the freezing cold. I’d complimented his bed and breakfast, but he yelled that it was best if I didn’t stay because I was a problem. The only issue was my card declining.

After dinner, we set up a card table and played cards, and Greg served us a great breakfast at the time we’d agreed on. We were traveling with another couple, and each couple had a room with its own private bathroom. The beds were very comfortable, so we got a good night’s rest. Greg and Nibby gave us excellent restaurant suggestions. Henderson is a lovely little river town with plenty to offer visitors, and the L&N is the place to stay. It has everything you’d expect from a bed and breakfast without going over the top.

The Ohio River is just a block away, and several good restaurants are within walking distance. There are historic homes in the neighborhood, and John James Audubon State Park and Museum is less than a 15 minute drive away. It’s quiet, aside from a train passing in the middle of the night. This quaint, charming home gave me a sense of simpler times, when neighbors knew one another and life moved less frantically, even though I was going to work every day. Greg was friendly and helpful, and I felt very welcome. Snacks and water were available without the $3-4 a bottle prices I’ve seen at Hilton or Marriott. The internet is actually secure, and my bed was comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.
