Holiday Inn Express Nashville-Hendersonville by IHG

After a really bad stay at the Wyndham Wingate in Goodlettsville, I came into the Holiday Inn Express frustrated and expecting another letdown. At that other hotel, both rooms I checked into had dirty beds covered in hair and pubic hairs. Manager Mike was rude, arrogant, disrespectful, dismissive, and unapologetic. Luckily, I film everything. David at the Holiday Inn Express front desk turned the night around. He was friendly and clearly cared about making me comfortable. He said he was relatively new, but handled things professionally, without rushing or pressuring me. The first room here had the same kind of hair and pubic hair on the bed, missed during cleaning. I told David, and he apologized right away without making excuses. He came up himself to check, treated me kindly, and arranged another room immediately. He also helped me check that the new room was spotless before I settled in. David deserves recognition and a promotion for his customer service. He made a stressful night into a great stay, and clearly knows how to treat people. Kudos to him and the Holiday Inn Express for having such a stellar team member. Now I hope I get refunded and compensated for this experience.

On my second stay, I chose this hotel again even though I was working in a nearby city. The location and staff were still great, but this room was much less clean: stains on the floor, marks on the walls, and mold in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling. I bring Lysol wipes, and the surfaces came up brown and pretty dirty. My first stay was five stars, with great value, an attractive property, friendly staff, and a spacious, clean room. Breakfast was great, and I had everything I needed for my two-day work trip. I'd happily have returned after that visit. Overall, the value, location, staff, and amenities are good, provided the room is clean and in good condition.

I've stayed here twice and was impressed by how kind the front desk staff were. They were outstanding both times. The rooms are a little better than okay, and for this area it's still a good value.

Great location, fresh-ground coffee whenever you want it, and a very good breakfast. The rooms were clean, with a powerful shower, though the sink's water pressure was extremely weak. Check-in staff weren't very friendly, but checkout was great.
