Royal Motel

I ended up watching the Super Bowl here and enjoying the extra room before heading back out. The furniture was thoughtfully chosen, with more of it than I usually find, and it had the things I need while working and living on the road. I usually put out the do not disturb sign because I don't like room service, but I forgot this time. The staff did such a good job cleaning that I was glad I let them in. They put a little extra care into it, and it felt like they wanted guests to feel like royalty. The price was better than usual, so I didn't expect such a nice welcome or that kind of effort during the stay. Thanks.

For its age, maybe dating back to the 60s, the place was in pretty good shape. It was nothing special, but the rate was low and definitely worth it. The bed was comfortable, the TV was nice, and there was hot water. In February, with Pennsylvania so cold, the A/C kept the room warm. A couple of things looked worn or in disrepair, and the door was hard to lock, but I didn't have any other complaints.

I've stayed at the Royal motel twice, once driving from Chicago to New York and again on the way back. The owners were kind, check-in was easy, and the rooms were tidy. It's close to restaurants, bars, gas stations, and other places you might need, most of which you can walk to. I'd stay again next time I'm heading east.

There’s a mini fridge and microwave in the room, and the hot water was good once I let it run for a couple of minutes. My room was at the end of the building, which might explain the wait. It’s near a busy road, though just about everything is close by. The rooms are cozy and lower priced. I’d come back, but I’m not sure how late-night check-in works.
