Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Herndon Reston

We didn’t feel welcome at all, and I wouldn’t stay here again. At check-in in the evening, the man I believe was named Ihmed acted as if we were bothering him. We asked to buy two waters, and when I asked how much they cost, he angrily said something like, “I will give you a receipt after.” We felt we’d better not upset him further, so we paid by card without knowing the price first. The two waters came to $8. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels and have never had such a rude, dismissive experience with front desk staff. The attitude was poor and unwelcoming. Ihmed should leave hospitality and customer service and find another line of work.

Ricardo’s kindness made it possible for me to attend my son’s graduation, which was the reason for my trip to VA. I broke my ankle while I was there and was having a terrible time managing the crutches from the hospital. At 63, they were no easy task. Ricardo saw me struggling and showed up with a wheelchair. We’ll always remember how caring he was. Fairfield is lucky to have him. The hotel was in a perfect location and met our needs. I wanted to make sure Ricardo got a special thank you for his amazing help during our stay.

The rooms were spotless, and the hotel felt as if it had been recently updated or built. Breakfast was good, with the usual hempton options.

The heating and A/C setup here is ridiculous. Those heat boxes put out cool or only slightly warm air, so don’t stay here if you need proper heat in the cold winter. I’ve heard they get lots of complaints about it, but the problem still hasn’t been fixed.
