Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott at Dulles Airport

The beds were old and uncomfortable, and if you have back problems, I'd avoid this place or check with them before booking. My room had two Queen beds. It wasn't the Marriott experience I'm used to, especially since they couldn't provide a microwave in the room, which would matter for a longer stay. The room remote was useless: the TV stopped working the next morning, and when I called, the desk guy said he'd come but never did. After about 30 minutes I went down, reminded him, and he came with his own remote to fix it. He assured me it wouldn't happen again, but the same thing happened the next day. The old curtains were hard to position to block light, and the AC below them blew the outer, soft curtains up. There was no microwave either. I booked for a week after renting a car from Hertz, and it was my first time at this facility. I arrived at 10:30 p.m. and didn't know the front from the back of the building, so I parked in the only open space I found around the perimeter, at the back. I looked for an entrance nearby and found one just a few feet away. It turned out to be mainly for Hertz renters, since Hertz has a mini office inside. The front desk man was rude from the start, with no greeting. He asked how I'd gotten into the building, then looked surprised when I pointed to that entrance and asked if it had been open, as if it were my fault. He also asked if I'd been there before, and I don't know why that mattered. Maybe he thought he could put me in a less desirable room because I was new, but I'm not sure. The front desk staff need to be trained to treat customers better.
