Residence Inn Seattle Sea Tac Airport

The team is the heart of this hotel. The front desk, room cleaners, and janitorial staff were all terrific, and I was acknowledged every time I came in. This was one of the best stays I’ve had, so I hope they’re rewarded for their work this holiday season. I’ve seen what happens when hotels don’t recognize their staff, and it shows. Parking was the only problem I noticed. There seem to be more rooms than spaces, so at night I had to get creative to find a spot, and people were parking in the fire lanes. I walked to and from the airport and enjoyed the free exercise. Keep up the good work.

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff were nice, but the smell made it barely bearable by bedtime. The bedding and towels had a strong laundry fragrance, and the room itself reeked of sharp cleaning products. I had a balcony door and left it open for hours in February trying to air things out. I’ve stayed at many Residence Inns because they used unscented products. They should use fragrance-free cleaning and laundry supplies here, since nobody should have to deal with these odors. I’ll have to rethink staying at Residence Inn.

We parked our car here for 10 days and planned to stay another night after flying back in. The shuttle had stopped pickups at midnight, so we had to pay $24 for a Lyft. At $200 a night, they should offer service around the clock. We drove farther down the road to the Red Roof Inn instead, where the shuttle runs 24 hours and the night cost $70. Red Roof was a nice place to stay. Marriott lost my business.

Naya, Lo, and One were all gracious and welcoming. The airport shuttle was useful and much appreciated, especially with SeaTac so close. The rooms were clean, staff kind, and they serve a complimentary hot breakfast in the morning. I liked the oatmeal, waffles, toast, and potatoes. The eggs could be better. I don’t eat pork, so I can’t comment on the sausage. Having a kitchen was especially handy since I brought food to cook, and this is a great hotel option.
