Hyatt Place Herndon Dulles Airport East

After driving more than 12 hours for a business trip, it was disappointing to learn we couldn’t get into our rooms for another two hours, until 1 pm. Then there was parking to pay for, plus a deposit that came to half the room price. When I finally got upstairs, the lamp by the bed didn’t work, which wasn’t a great first impression. I hope breakfast is better than the other reviews make it sound; it might be the only thing to look forward to. There’s a pool and fitness center, though I don’t know their current status.

I used to stay here regularly, but lately the cleanliness, perks, and customer service have all gone downhill. The front desk staff seem indifferent and lack people skills, and my attempt to reach the manager got no reply. It’s also not close to much on foot, and they charge extra for everything. Look around before booking. There are nearby hotels that cost less, are cleaner, and offer better service.

I can accept an older building if someone keeps it up, but the upkeep and housekeeping here are seriously lacking. Our room had an old shower, a washbasin that was clogged and wouldn’t drain, and empty body wash dispensers. The maintenance and service teams aren’t keeping up with basic essentials. It’s not hard to see why this place gets poor ratings. There are much better choices if you want a comfortable room and attentive service.

I’ve just checked in, and the room is beautiful, spacious, and nicely furnished. Sarah at check-in is a sweetheart and made me laugh. Our driver, Mark, was so nice and knew the area well. He took us to and from the airport, then later to Clocktower center so we could eat at Ned's Irish Restaurant. A fabulous guy. We’re waiting for the shuttle to Dulles airport to pick up my friend flying in from Ireland. Looking forward to the complimentary breakfast tomorrow. I’d recommend Hyatt Place Herndon/Dulles 100%.
