Courtyard by Marriott Hershey Chocolate Avenue

My sister stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Hershey Chocolate Avenue over the weekend of August 23rd with my niece, who has a disability, and a family friend. I'm sharing her thanks for how welcomed and cared for they felt. Elle at the front desk, Dawn from the Bistro, and Joyce were especially kind and compassionate, and went above and beyond to support them. Traveling with a disabled child can be hard, but the team's attentiveness and willingness to accommodate my sister's needs made the stay smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. She asked me to pass along her heartfelt appreciation and highly recommends the hotel.

I've stayed here at least ten times with my husband because it's close to Hershey Park, and we've never had a major problem before. But when I came with my stepdaughters on 5/2/26, I was given a key to a room that already had someone in it. Fortunately, the man inside was cordial and there weren't any major issues, but it's a serious safety concern. I'm hesitant to return because something worse could have happened. The room prices were astronomical too, possibly because the Stars on Ice tour was in Hershey that night.

My boss was coming downstairs shortly after me to add his order, and the day before we were able to put both orders on a tab without a problem. This time, the woman at the register wouldn't let me do it. She sighed and was extremely rude as she went over the meal options after asking if I was sure, since it would take 15-20 minutes. When my boss arrived, her tone changed dramatically: she said she hadn't known he was my boss and became very sweet. Being treated as less than until a male boss appears is deplorable. She was snappy with her young male coworker too. I was in town on business with my boss. The front desk staff were all friendly, and I had no complaints about housekeeping. The Bistro left a lot to be desired.

The convenient location has potential, but service and upkeep need work. At check-in I waited 10-15 minutes while the staff member played video games in the lobby. The room vents were very dusty, and the amenities felt limited. Children running in the hall woke me during the night. The parfaits were overpriced. At the Bistro, the server seemed to slur her words and smelled strongly of alcohol. For my next business trip, I'll probably stay at the Hampton down the road.
