Tru By Hilton Hershey Chocolate Avenue

Haylee at the front desk was really kind and helpful, and the location made this an easy place to stay with our dog. It's right by a cute neighborhood for walking, and only about five minutes from the attractions. We were only there for one night, but liked it enough that we'd book again when we come back. The king suite was packed tight, though. We managed to fit the dog's crate, but the room felt crammed. We also heard loud families through the thin walls for much of the night. That's not really the hotel's fault, especially near an attraction, but it did affect the stay.

The indoor pool, fitness center, lobby games, free coffee and tea, and Wi-Fi were all nice to have. The room was clean and comfortable, and getting to Hersheys Chocolate world tour from here was convenient. We had a great first stay at Tru by Hilton Hershey Chocolate Avenue, mainly because the staff were so courteous and the service was impeccable. The entrance and parking were wheelchair accessible, there was free parking, and the atmosphere was lovely. I'll definitely come back, and I'd recommend it to tourists or locals.

Linda called about an hour after I left my number to say our room was cleaned and ready. I hadn't expected a call back, and that kind of follow through says a lot about the staff. Everyone we ran into was really nice. When loud neighbors upstairs kept my kids awake past 11pm, the front desk dealt with it right away and asked me to call again if we could still hear them after 15 minutes. We were traveling with two little ones and had asked the night before about early check-in. Since the hotel was sold out, they suggested calling again after 9 am. The next morning, nobody had checked out yet, but they took my details and said they'd call when a room opened up. We also liked the location, about a 12 minute drive to the park with good restaurants nearby. We'll make this our regular place for Hershey trips. Thanks for the hospitality!

The room was tiny, and breakfast was hot but slow to come out and not good. The eggs tasted powdered and the meat seemed like it had been frozen and thawed. What really made me write this, though, was finding that someone had entered my room even though my do not disturb sign was up. My reservation was still active and I didn't need housekeeping. Since I was paying for the room, going in without my permission felt unacceptable and violating.
