Econo Lodge Hickory

I travel for work and stay in hotels almost every week, but I've never had a situation this ridiculous. I don't smoke, and I've never even stayed in room 206. Still, the day shift front desk woman accused me of smoking there. Instead of calmly checking my past stays, she started yelling at me. The whole thing felt immature and unprofessional.

The room itself was clean and felt welcoming, like a home away from home, and the place is fine for somewhere to sleep. The problem was the service. The woman at the front desk, I think her name was Jan or Jen and she wore glasses, came across as rude and pretentious. She seemed more focused on a man smoking than on the guests. I can't remember her name for sure, and don't care to, but she could use some training in guest service and public relations.

I found cockroaches in my room and was told I'd get a refund, but it still hasn't come through. When I went to speak with the manager, I was told I needed to call and talk to a different manager.

It was decent for what I paid, and I didn't spot any bugs.
