Econo Lodge High Point - Archdale

The motel was clean and came with a microwave and mini fridge. Prices are very reasonable. Whenever I needed help, someone responded right away. I’d recommend it to anyone I know.

We were shouted at and rushed out before checkout. First someone opened the door without knocking and yelled that it was time to leave. We said we’d be out on time, and they left after shouting some more. I locked the door, but ten minutes later a man tried to force it open against the chain. I said we’d leave in five minutes, and he wagged his finger in my face while speaking another language. I couldn’t believe it. I waited in the hallway while the teenagers with me got ready, hoping to avoid another confrontation. Another guest, maybe, asked whether I could find $10 worth of ice. The room smelled moldy and was disgusting. The staff couldn’t seem to grasp basic things, and English wasn’t their first language. The room itself wasn’t even the worst part. This didn’t feel safe, especially with women or children along. I strongly recommend staying away.

I called ahead to ask for a one-bed room and was told they had one. Three minutes later, when I got there, they said they didn’t have a one-bedroom, so I had to take a two-bed smoking room. It was sketchy to start with, but work made it convenient at the time. I checked in late and went to bed, then got woken at 1 a.m. by seven cops saying I had a warrant. I opened the door, and they didn’t have a warrant. Cops going room to room at 1 a.m. questioning people makes this place feel extremely unsafe. I’d drive right past it.

We were put in a smoking room even though we didn’t want or need one. The beds were hard and really small, and the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks. The bathroom was tiny and bare, the sink leaked, and there was rust and grime all over the shower.
