The staff were very friendly, and I appreciated that. The rest of the stay felt musty and unpleasant. My daughter’s white socks turned brown after one night walking around the room, and the smell of cleaning products was so strong it almost seemed like they were covering up another odor. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the towels were very thin. It has the feel of a hotel whose owners aren’t putting money back into it. It’s not a great Courtyard, though if you need to be in High Point, there aren’t many options.

Best food I’ve had at any hotel for business travelers. The breakfast potatoes and peanut butter, banana, and berry toast were awesome. The room layout was great too. This is my new favorite Hotel!

The people were the highlight for me. There was always a lovely staff member around to welcome you with a smile, and they felt like genuinely good humans. The Starbucks service was great too. My room was clean, though a bit dark and could use more lighting. The gym was small, just a few treadmills and a tiny area to stretch or work out, but it was fine. Marriott doesn’t disappoint. Five stars for the people working here.

We loved staying here last year, so it was a letdown to be turned away this time. The parking lot was partly full, and when we went to the desk, the staff member said there were no rooms. I’m not sure what the real story was, but I thought there were plenty available. After that, I probably wouldn’t recommend staying here. Best of luck to anyone who does.

The bar and lounge downstairs were nice, and the hotel did the job when we needed a room. The bartender was trying to push a caffeinated drink for our 7-year-old, though. The pool was really cold, and a hot tub would have been nice. Tap water was gross even for showering and brushing teeth, but there are water filters by the ice.
