Super 8 by Wyndham High Point/Greensboro

I work as a Travel Hospice Nurse and Travel Agent, so I need somewhere safe and quiet to relax and get work done. This hotel is in a very safe, peaceful area, and the staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a nice place to stay, though the rooms need updating and breakfast needs more choices.

We stay here when we’re in the area because it’s convenient to River Landing, where we visit a relative. The hotel has lovely old time features, and the staff are always helpful. Check in and checkout are quick, and when we asked for a first floor room, we got one.

We visited for the High Point furniture show and found the hotel welcoming and helpful. With our own car, it took about 10-15 minutes to get into town. Sam went out of her way to help when I left an important book behind. She mailed it back to my home, which was a real inconvenience for her, and she was so kind and accommodating.

When my fiancé and I arrived to check in on Nov 28, both rooms we were given were filthy. Sheets were balled up on the beds, towels and rags were dirty, trash cans were full, jars of lotion and body butter were on lamp posts, and alcohol bottles sat on TV stands. The non-smoking rooms smelled like weed, and one room had a light that didn’t work. We told the front desk we might return, but decided to cancel. They said we had to contact booking.com. After staying at another hotel and spending the whole week contacting booking.com, I finally got my refund Friday night, Dec 5. I made multiple attempts to reach someone at Super 8. I kept being told the manager wasn’t there, though the manager was able to message me through booking.com and tell me to call at certain hours, then wasn’t available when I called. The guy at the front desk seemed clueless. He said he remembered us checking in, but still charged us a no show fee. My card statements don’t show that. The service was really shitty, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to stay there in case they try to take your money. booking.com was great throughout this, and has everything documented for me. I’ll also send this report to Wyndham corporate as soon as someone gets in touch with me.
