I needed a room on short notice, and they went more than halfway to help. The bed was comfortable, the wood-paneled walls and doors felt warm, and the bathroom had classic mid-century tile and fixtures. Breakfast was a decent continental spread, and the price was reasonable. The place was discreet and had several nice extras. It’s a peaceful little spot right downtown in Hill City, with everything only a few steps away. Thank you!

We ended up loving this inn, even though at first I was unsure about staying somewhere with just six rooms. The room was really well equipped, with a modern window unit, a ceiling fan, and a fridge, and the bed was very comfortable. You can tell the people running it care about making guests comfortable. The location is great, too. We spent plenty at Jewel Of the West across the street, and Prairie Berry had the best food and wine. Try the Frost Bite adult slushie, and whatever else sounds good!

Dan and Mary made the last stop of our trip feel priceless. After traveling through three states in seven days and staying in lots of places, Harney Peak Inn in Hill City, SD was our final stop before heading home. It was peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming in a way we hadn’t experienced elsewhere. Their comfort and hospitality made it feel like a home away from home. What a wonderful couple. We’ll be back to enjoy Harney Peak Inn again. :)

We booked the wrong night at first, but they fixed it without much fuss. It was a last-minute trip during the off season, and the modern little room was just right. We saw the extras outside, and the place is right on main street, so we could walk to dinner and then breakfast the next morning. This town is a little gem in the hills. I’d definitely come back in summer to experience it all.

It feels like home here. Dan and Angela have music playing and a nice spot to sit back and have a drink. The owners are great, the accommodations are great, and you’re close to all the sights. Hill City is such a lovely little town. I highly recommend Harney Peak Inn.
