For $50-$70 a night, this was a good place to crash, not a luxury retreat. The place was clean and felt more like a log cabin than a motel, and the service was good. The owner was very sweet, helping all the cars that got stuck in the snow that morning, including ours. There are surprisingly a lot of complaints, but I think some people don't realize what a motel at that price is like.

I lasted one night out of the five I booked, and by morning I was freezing. The room had no insulation, and the AC was completely trashed. I couldn't get a refund for the $300 I spent. Outside, half the rooms looked condemned, and a few had boarded-up windows. Inside, the room smelled like an ashtray, the outlets hung out of the walls, and the door knob jingled and didn't feel safe, especially given the neighborhood. The man at the desk wasn't there; he was in another room, and I had to walk around to find him. This place may be the cheapest nearby, but paying another $10 a night is more than worth it. I wouldn't stay here if they paid me $300. What a scam.

They lied when we called and said they had power during the ice storm. When we confronted the owner, he got very aggressive. It felt extremely unsafe to stay there. One star only because zero isn't an option.

It was a place to sleep, but the room had a lot of cleanliness and condition problems. There was a discarded condom on the floor, no closet rod, the tub stopper didn't work so I couldn't take a bath, and the TV was out of order. Check-in took far too long because the attendant couldn't use the card machine, so I had to pay cash. They couldn't provide a receipt either.
