PRAIA Hotel Hollywood

After driving from Michigan to Florida, I found that the room I’d booked wasn’t the one I got. The room they gave me was old and dirty, with stains throughout the living room, dirty sheets and walls, and mold in several places. The mold smell was awful. My little daughter nearly fainted from it. I got no response from the owner, who ignored me instead of refunding my money, so I had to find somewhere else and pay for a whole week again. The mold felt life-threatening. It was total neglect and disrespect for customers. I’m taking this to city hall and the city sanitation department, even if they have to shut the place down. A lawsuit is on the way.

We liked the unit, and the kids’ room, pool and lounge area were especially handy since we arrived early from our cruise. The beach and a fun pirate park for the kids were both within walking distance. Our main frustration was having to wait until exactly 3 pm to get in. We arrived at 11 am, told management we were there, and asked them to let us know when the room was ready because our one year old and three year old with autism needed naps. We sat by the pool and could see that the unit had been cleaned and was ready, but the door code still wouldn’t work. A little flexibility would’ve helped. The laundry change machine also jammed and kept my bill. Management never replied when I messaged, so I walked about 20 minutes to find a store where I could break another bill and dry my laundry.

The atmosphere was lively without being too much, so it was easy to relax after a day at the beach. The beach and main attractions were close by, with the beach just a short walk away. My room was clean, comfortable and had what I needed. Staff were friendly and ready to help with questions or requests. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable and convenient near the beach.

The room looked nothing like the photos. Dirty sheets, a moldy smell. I checked in and went straight back out.
