The best parts were the balcony view and clean floors. We still had a fun time seeing the Everglades and playing foot golf. If you haven’t tried foot golf, I highly recommend it. We went to Sawgrass Recreational Park for the Everglades, and had a great tour guide and tour. We also enjoyed the weather, beach, food, and activities, even though we weren’t happy with the rental. We stayed 3 days, 4 nights, and the place was awful. Parking had been advertised as available without mentioning a charge. When I made the reservation, I was told we had to pay. I tried to cancel, but would only get 50% back, so I kept it, already with a bad feeling. The listing said the master bedroom had a kind size bed, but it was a queen. My husband and I like room to sleep, so our son got that room and the ocean view. There were no washcloths and only one hand towel in the bathrooms. When I messaged the host, she said they don’t provide them. There was no hand soap either, so I used the travel-size shampoo. I told the host, but she didn’t care. The shower shampoo and body wash containers were empty. In the master bathroom there was only shampoo, because the body wash container had been ripped out. I asked the host for both, and two days later we got a bunch of travel-size bottles in a used baggie. The second bathroom ceiling also had a large peeling spot. A hallway light by the second bedroom was broken. I told the host, and she didn’t care. The bedroom windows either wouldn’t open or wouldn’t stay up, so we couldn’t hear the ocean at night. It felt like sleeping at home. The master bedroom shades were painfully loud when opening or closing. They ran slowly by remote. In the second bedroom, there were scrape marks along the wall beside the window from the shade, plus a big black mark on the ceiling nearby, probably from someone lighting a candle. The kitchen faucet was broken and dangled in the sink. There was no dish soap for hand washing, and we used the same pots and pans more than once. We saw tiny bugs in the sink and didn’t put dishes in it. I was so upset that I asked for a refund. The host offered only $50 off the cleaning fee, over a week ago, and I’m still waiting.

The staff were incompetent and rude, and the valet person JORGE was the rudest, most unprofessional person I’ve ever met. He demanded payment each time we left the parking lot, then got annoyed when he had to get out of his chair to open the gate for us, entering or leaving. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. There are other places to rent with better customer service. 10 out of 10, I don’t recommend it, won’t return, and as far as I’m concerned they need to let JORGE go. He only has a job because people like us rent the rooms.

For our two-week rental at The Tides, we found the condo dirty, unappealing, and poorly maintained. The showers were broken, and the place felt neglected. The lobby and pool staff were rude and unwelcoming. Even though they recognized us, they kept asking to see our bracelets every 2 minutes, which made the stay uncomfortable. The pool was extremely hot and not clean, and inflatables weren’t allowed, making it less enjoyable for families. It was a disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend it or return.

The elevators took forever, the lines were constantly long, and staff were rude. The host, Graciela (15C), tried to charge me $21 for an Amazon package and then refused to return it to the sender when I wouldn’t pay. The host, Graciela (15C), is notorious for hit-and-run upcharging after checkout. Check the Airbnb reviews before you even consider booking here. AVOID Tides Hollywood Hotel & Host Graciela 15C.

The beach was closed for construction during my last 3 days, so we had to walk to the next building to get to it, which was annoying. That’s why I’m not giving five stars. The place could use updates too: the doors were hard to close, and the refrigerator didn’t shut all the way. We rented for a week from Pablo, who’s a great guy and answered questions right away. The apartment was good, with great beach and pool access. The gym is open 24 hours, and the building staff were friendly. At first, I was annoyed by the extra fees: parking was $100 for the week, which I thought was expensive, plus $20 for a refundable parking tag. You get two key fobs at $30.00each for the building, pool, and beach access. But once I saw how it worked, I understood they use the security measures to keep outsiders from getting access. I saw security checking tags in the parking lot and pool every day, even at night. I’d thought they were overcharging until I saw the fees at Diplomat resort a couple of buildings away, and then this seemed decent. The place was well stocked with beach towels, shower supplies, hand soap, and dishwashing soap. The pool area was quiet and clean, the public restrooms were clean, and a shower was available by the pool. The beach was very good and quiet.
