Hotel Wayne

I went in to cancel my reservation and was fine either way about whether I got a refund. The front desk worker just walked off, muttered complaints, and never returned. I was treated like I wasn't even there, despite being perfectly nice when I arrived. It makes me wonder what the service would've been like had I stayed. It's sad that a guest gets treated this way. I wouldn't book here again or recommend it to anyone.

The room looked incredibly cheap, with cords everywhere for the window AC and lamps, and TV wires running along the wall. The carpet was old and dirty, and the sink was cracked. Under the paint and rubber bath mat, the shower floor seemed to be rotting, and my husband thought he might fall through it. The hallway smelled bad from big bags of dirty linens, so they'd put a plug-in fan there. Outside, the porch floor was rotting too, with a room rug thrown over it. For what we paid, I expected something decent. The receptionist couldn't even be bothered to sit up and came across as unprofessional. The owners should be ashamed. I couldn't get out of this dump fast enough.

Spent $20 on what might've been the worst chicken wings and fries. I don't know what other food is nearby, but I'd bet the hospital a block away serves better quality.

The building really needs investment. There's old water damage from a leaking roof, and the rooms feel thrown together. It's a 200-year-old place, so I could cut it some slack, but they need to fix it up, especially when rooms cost well over $100 a night and the restaurant brings in money too. I didn't try the restaurant's food, though the staff were wonderful to the hotel guests. Aside from one person, the service was awesome. I don't know who owns the place, but I'd stay at a B&B elsewhere in town or find somewhere else.
