Oasis Hotel Waikiki

The staff are the best part of this stay. Everyone was kind, respectful, and quick to help. Aaliyah, Mike, and Mark especially rank among the best hotel staff I’ve encountered while traveling to 38 countries. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable, and I’d take genuinely helpful people over a ritzy stay any time. The Oasis Hotel is right in the heart of Waikiki, next to the shopping strip and a couple minutes from the beach. It’s also beside the canal running path, with a little park behind the hotel for late night pet potty breaks.

Breakfast was great, and Aaliyah at the front desk, I think that’s how it’s spelled, was always cheerful and gave great customer service. The room was older and in rougher shape than the Expedia photos suggested, and it had a strong musty smell. We asked the gentleman working if we could change rooms in case it was just ours, but he said they were sold out that night and would try something the next day. We never heard back.

The whole team made us feel welcome, and staff were kind, friendly, and willing to accommodate what we needed. Joshua, Tim, Allyiah, Kevin, and Michael especially stood out. From check-in through check-out, they went beyond what we expected. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay.

We spent most of our week exploring the island, so we didn’t really use the quite small pool. The hotel itself was quiet and relaxing, and the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. You can borrow beach towels and chairs at reception. The location is very good, close to Waikiki Beach, and the included continental breakfast was a nice extra, with tasty toast and decent coffee. Housekeeping came every 3 days, did a good job, and left a fresh smell. Parking costs $45 per night. You leave your keys, and they park the car and bring it back when needed. It all worked smoothly, even at 5 AM. The balcony view wasn’t very impressive, though. I chose the hotel because the photos looked great.
