Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Waikiki

The stay was decent. We slept well without noise or room problems, and the cleaners came in regularly, which I liked. The view was nice, the front desk staff were friendly, and there’s a cute little gift shop. Sadly, there’s no breakfast. Parking is first come, first served, and if the lot fills up they block it with cones. I think parking costs 30 dollars a day, though they give you a pass. They also don’t provide slippers, which is a shame since hotels usually have them.

We had several families in our group, some staying one or two nights at the Ramada before our cruise, and two families came back for another night afterward. Staff were extremely helpful about keeping our luggage in a designated lobby area before check-in on both stays. The check-in and check-out were easy, the hotel was clean, and it had the amenities we needed, including a good laundry area. When we returned from the cruise, I asked about doing laundry and they gave me a key card for immediate access, even though check-in was still six hours away. The location was perfect for getting to shops, restaurants, and the beach on foot. Shuttle service just outside made it easy to explore without a taxi or Lyft/Uber. Everyone on staff was kind and friendly. We’d highly recommend the Ramada Plaza Waikiki.

We found a parking spot without trouble with our rental car, though it was February, so high season could be different. The hotel is well placed for shops, restaurants, and the beach, and there’s a trolly stop nearby. You can watch the Hilton across the street set off fireworks every Friday around 7:30. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bed was very comfortable.

Fine for a one-night stop. The room was clean, secure, and spacious, but there was no bathtub plug, so I had to take a shower instead of a hot soak. After a 9 1/2-hour flight to Honolulu, I asked politely for a complimentary extra hour beyond the 11 a.m. checkout. The day shift manager refused and wanted to charge $40. The stay had already cost me $277, so I passed. I can’t think of another time an expensive or cheap hotel wouldn’t give me that extra hour when I asked. This was a first.
