Studio in the Aloha Surf 6th Floor

I don’t usually write reviews, but the team made our vacation easy and enjoyable. Sina and Lance were especially helpful and accommodating. They even stored our luggage for free after checkout, and there’s a great massage place in the lobby. The beach is five minutes away, and local restaurants are easy to reach on foot. This hotel felt like a hidden gem. Thanks for a great stay!

I booked this at the last minute just to have somewhere to sleep the first night, and I’m glad I only booked one night. The location is great for the beach and shops, the price is very budget friendly, the staff were friendly, and there’s a secure luggage room and a fun movie rental kiosk in the lobby. The room was musty, very small and old, a bit dirty, and the TV remote had no batteries. The AC was incredibly loud, like a lawnmower, and barely cooled anything. My asthma acted up as soon as I went in. The whole hotel felt old, dark, and gloomy. I know it’s a budget hotel, but the place I stayed at a few blocks away for the rest of the trip was also in an old building and was much better: clean, bright, spacious, with strong but quiet AC. This was really disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location is the one big positive: it’s central, walkable to Waikiki Beach, and close to downtown nightlife and attractions. But the room was cramped and dirty, and poor maintenance was obvious around the property. At this price, the condition was very disappointing. We were told breakfast was included before booking, then told after arriving that it wasn’t. That felt misleading and unprofessional.

I was traveling alone and felt safe and comfortable for all six days. The staff were very kind and ready to help, and the location made getting around easy. It’s a welcoming, affordable option, and I’d recommend it. Just know housekeeping usually comes every three days, but they can come sooner if you give 24 hours’ notice.
