Oak Street Hotel

Oak Street Hotel was full of charm and made for a perfect getaway. Brandy was so hospitable, and breakfast was incredible. The pastries were some of the best I’ve ever had, especially knowing they were made from scratch.

The location was great for walking to shops and breweries, though we drove some because of mobility issues. Staff helped us choose rooms for our group: an older person with a walker, a three-year-old, and three adults. We stayed in rooms #6 and #7. Room #7 had a king bed and a one-level bathroom with a shower; there were two steps to manage, but it worked well for our older gentleman. It also had a separate space with a queen bed, and staff put several sterilized toys in the room for the child. Room #6 had a queen and a bathroom. The stay was great, though the mattresses felt firm to me. The pillows were wonderful, and we appreciated the umbrellas for the rainy weather.

I booked at the last minute after spotting the hotel while having lunch next door. I like smaller, quiet places, and the people here were very friendly and helpful. I’d stay again when I’m in Hood River.

Oak Street Hotel made it possible for my whole bridal party to stay together, which is hard to find in Hood River. The communication was great throughout, and they helped lay out bridesmaid gifts, pack breakfast to take to the venue, and put name tags on everyone’s rooms. The location was unbeatable, a two-minute walk from our rehearsal dinner and five minutes from downtown. I’d highly recommend it for a large group.
