Embassy Suites Birmingham - Hoover

Everything was pleasant until I accidentally dropped my AirPods Pro (3rd generation) in a hallway on my last day. I went back right away to search, but couldn’t find them. Apple’s “Find My” kept showing the AirPod inside the hotel. Once I finally got a live connection, its location updated to an employee break room in the kitchen area. I confronted the employee and recovered it. I then asked someone at the front desk what staff are supposed to do when they find something valuable. I was told items normally go to Lost and Found. When I said that hadn’t happened in my case, the response was that lots of things get lost and not everything is turned in. I find that unacceptable. An employee who finds an item worth about $250 at work should turn it in promptly. Guests will reasonably come back for property they paid for and own. Without Apple’s tracking, I’m confident I wouldn’t have gotten it back. This reflects poorly on the hotel and raises concerns about staff integrity and following policy. I strongly encourage management to review the incident and reinforce lost-and-found procedures with everyone.

My family and I will definitely be back, and I’ll tell other people about Embassy Suites. The staff were friendly and the customer service was great. Our waitress, Iesha, was outstanding. We didn’t wait long for food or drinks, and she checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. Mr. Eddy’s service was excellent too. We enjoyed our stay in 2026.

The rooms and facilities were good, and most of the stay met my expectations. The problem came at breakfast. I was driving a bus for a group attending an event, and I was also a registered guest. Staff initially assumed I was a child with the group and spoke dismissively, saying only guests could have breakfast. Once I explained I was a guest, they let me into the breakfast area. Later, at the made-to-order omelet station, an employee named Maria told me, “They will not cook that for you; you’ll be better off getting something else.” That felt unprofessional and inappropriate. I’m certified in hotel lodging and guest services, and I believe every guest should be treated with courtesy and respect. This interaction didn’t meet the hospitality standard I expect from a hotel.

We always enjoy staying here. It’s clean, convenient to the Hoover Met, and the included breakfast is great. My only complaint is that the shower in Room 804 was barely warm, with weak water pressure. At check-in I was told the room had recently been renovated, so I think staff could easily fix the temperature by adjusting it.
