Hampton Inn by Hilton Hopewell Fort Lee

For anyone sensitive to light while sleeping, bring electrical tape to cover the light switches. The LEDs are so bright they light up the whole room. I could read a book in bed from the switch by the door. I even unplugged the bedside lamp because its dim night-light mode was still on. Who thought these were a good idea? Otherwise, it's a perfectly fine older Hampton Inn. The bed was comfy and clean, the pillows were fine, and both the AC and heat worked well. It's just way too bright at night unless you bring something to darken the room.

It's a nice hotel overall. My first room's door wouldn't lock, so I switched rooms. In the next one, I walked in on someone in bed and excused myself. The third room was fine. I had to check out early because of car trouble and headed home instead of staying the second night.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. But the water was barely lukewarm, not hot, and breakfast was a joke. There was no hot food and no butter for the bagels or English muffins, so I was choking down dry bread.

I spent a month here for military training. It's super close to the base, with everything you need nearby. The staff are friendly and breakfast is great. If you're coming to Fort Lee, trust me, you won't regret staying here.
