We were in town to see family, and this was an affordable place to stay. Our room was roomy, clean, and smelled fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it if you need a safe, reasonably priced room.

The pictures gave a misleading impression, and the room wasn't clean. There was hair on the bathroom floor, and the carbon/smoke detectors had been pulled out, which was concerning. At check-in, the receptionist asked for a $40 cash deposit. That felt sketchy, especially since he only wrote it by hand on our invoice when we asked for a receipt. At checkout we had to remind them to return the deposit, even after explaining how the stay had gone. We arrived with four children after a long day of travel to find the air conditioner off on a 90-degree day. It took until 3 a.m. for the room to cool down. Awful experience.

The whirlpool tub worked okay, but the room wasn't worth what we paid. The floors were filthy and had something sticky on them, and my husband wasn't sure the bed was clean or whether there might be bed bugs. The room was somewhat clean otherwise. The mini-fridge wasn't working, and after staff spent some time on it, they realized it couldn't be repaired and had to replace it. The door bolt was broken too and needed fixing. He'd planned to stay about nine hours after a long drive, then finish driving home in the morning. Kids were running and jumping around in the room above him. He mentioned it to the desk, but nothing was done. By 10 p.m. he packed up, put his food back in the cooler, and checked out. He wasn't willing to stay longer and told them why. We wouldn't recommend this place. With these rates, it's two stars at best, even with a whirlpool in the room.

The first room was really uncomfortable, and the second wasn't any better. I switched rooms because the heater blew hot and cold air at the same time. The toilet wouldn't flush, and the tub and shower had problems. The bathroom door was filthy on the back, and the rooms need a serious cleaning. The love seats were heavily stained and dirty.

Breakfast was far from enough, and there was often too little fruit, as if the owners hadn't planned for the number of guests. Cleaning mostly meant making the beds and replacing towels. Staff didn't wash the floors or dust until I pointed out the problem. The towels were dirty, as though they'd been used to wipe the floor, yet the owners still put them in the rooms. On the second floor, the shower water was only lukewarm, not hot. When I asked for it to be fixed, I got promises but no solution.
