Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Hot Springs, AR

We had a comfortable, clean room, and the staff were friendly and informative. The location was good, about 7miles from downtown Hot Springs. One night, a group across the hall had a loud altercation that woke most of the floor, though I can't blame the hotel for that. The room itself had working plugs by the bed and desk, but the bedside lights didn't work and the tub in Room 202 drained poorly. The indoor pool is small, reaches 5ft at its deepest, and has a handicapped lift. The water felt a bit cool, and the provided towels were small. Breakfast was satisfying, with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, waffles, doughnuts, muffins, bagels, juice, milk, and coffee.

My room keys kept failing, and even after several trips to the front desk and repeated attempts, the problem wasn't properly fixed. Having to keep going back just to get into my room was frustrating and especially inconvenient after a long day. Room access is basic, and this showed poor organization and little attention to guest comfort. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend the hotel.

My husband and I have stayed with this hotel in many states, so I was shocked when they wouldn't rent me a room in my own town. Apparently they don't accept local guests. I'm furious about this ridiculous policy. If your house burns down and you need somewhere to stay, they WILL NOT RENT TO YOU! We've booked our last room with this hotel, EVER. You've lost a customer, and I'm telling people about it.

The area has plenty of nearby restaurants and activities, and the pool water was pleasantly warm. The pool tiles had slimy buildup, though. We used to really like this hotel, but time hasn't been kind to it. We were grandparents staying with our grandson, and the desk clerk put us in the section used by long-term construction workers. The hall and room smelled of work boots and old cooking. We had no hair dryer or conditioner, and both the AC and bathroom fan made an annoying noise. The beds were hard and lumpy, and the pillows weren't good, so we didn't sleep well. Breakfast was fresh but had very limited choices; coffee and tea were available. The night was quiet and the hotel felt safe. Other hallways weren't as unpleasant as ours, so if you're assigned a room from 101 to 109, ask to move. Those rooms aren't good for families expecting a nice stay.
