Hilltop Manor Bed and Breakfast

April made our two-night stay memorable with delicious gourmet breakfasts. We also enjoyed the complimentary soda, water, chips, and candy by the front entrance. The owners have kept this historic home beautiful and well maintained, with large landscaped grounds. We got our personal entry code shortly before arriving. Being greeted by a host is nice at a B&B, but we've used entry codes at other places too, and they work well for both guests and hosts when arrivals run later than expected. We'd recommend this B&B to anyone who enjoys historic homes, spacious grounds, and good breakfasts.

The manor's history is well preserved, and our room was spotless and outstanding. The landscaping is carefully done and adds a lot to the setting. It's a quiet, relaxing place away from downtown noise, especially suited to couples. The chef and manager was very nice, and breakfast was excellent, with a lovely presentation. We also met the owners, who were kind and accommodating. We'd stay again if we return to Hot Springs.

We especially liked how peaceful and quiet the surroundings were. The rooms had plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was excellent each morning. The owner and staff went above and beyond, and we thoroughly enjoyed our New Year's stay. Great atmosphere and service. We'll be back on our next visit.

Hilltop Manor is still our place to get away in Hot Springs. Special thanks to April for the good food and conversation. She made the move to the new management team easy for us, and we really appreciated that. The breakfasts have changed, but they're still delicious and just as good in quality. Harry, the new owner, grows some of the menu ingredients in his garden. The house and grounds remain beautiful, and Harry is changing parts of the outdoor space to make better use of the property. We didn't get to explore those areas on this short visit. The only change I wasn't keen on was switching the TVs to streaming. Several channels kept buffering, and many of our old favorites weren't available to watch. We've stayed at least five or six times over the last eight years. We found Hilltop Manor after getting tired of downtown hotels with crowds, screaming kids stomping overhead, heavy drinkers, and all-night party groups. This year we booked on the spur of the moment for a short stay and didn't know the owners had changed. At first, the new door entry and check-in process just seemed like a few updates. Once we learned about the ownership change, we were very apprehensive because we loved the former owners and how well they always treated us. Contactless check-in also meant we missed Joanna's warm smile and sweet nature when we arrived. Meeting April over breakfast the next morning eased our worries. She's a delight, very sweet, efficient, and a wonderful cook. For anyone new to the place, this is a big house over a hundred years old, set on five beautiful acres. It isn't a Holiday Inn or a Hilton, and it wasn't built last year. It dates from when people had to ride here by horse and buggy. It's a beautiful, stately historic home, almost a mansion, with cozy rooms and lovely common areas that feel like another time. You could sit downstairs with a book and coffee and be perfectly content without leaving. It's quiet and peaceful. Just wonderful.
