Lotus by Hotel Inn - Hot Springs

The manager kindly offered to return the cancellation fee, even though the mistake was mine. I hadn't checked the policy and missed the check-in time, and this small hotel doesn't staff the desk around the clock. I was traveling with my granddaughter on a very tight budget, so I was especially grateful for the offer. The hotel had contacted me about canceling after I realized I couldn't arrive in time, and the first night's cost would otherwise have been charged. I'm thankful for the compassionate, kind staff, and I'll book with them again on my next trip to Arkansas.

I was told my deposit would be back on my card within four days, but it never came. When I called, they said they hadn't charged it, only put a hold on that amount. The front desk woman I dealt with, Amber, was rude every time I called or asked something, and she hung up on me more than once. I couldn't get hold of a manager about her behavior. The room itself was disgusting, with hair in the tub, debris left by previous guests on the floor, holes in the ceiling, and no working channels at all. It was supposed to be non-smoking. The pool was empty and looked awful, and the whole place felt like white trash. Amber had no business in that job and was completely unprofessional. Save your money.

The outside looked a bit rough, but I know they're renovating. Inside, the beds were clean, comfortable, and free of bugs. It's a great spot for downtown, with lots of places within walking distance. I loved staying here and will come back.

The booking.com listing showed a room as available and ready, and the confirmation said the property was open until 9 pm. When I arrived, the manager wouldn't come to the office, despite the notice on the door saying he would. Instead, he sent a woman downstairs to tell me there was no room, leaving me stranded. They also wouldn't answer the phone number they had listed. This place seems dodgy. Stay away.
