We had dinner at the tavern on June 12, 2026. The new owners have made impressive progress restoring the place. Our server was friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the food: steamed pork dumplings to start, then pho and sirloin steak, followed by coconut crème brûlée. Highly recommend!

Our group of three couldn't decide what to get at Iron Horse Station, so we ordered the Shepard’s Pie, Bulgogi, Crawfish Roll with a side of Ramp Kimchi, and Crawfish Rangoon Dip to start. Every bit of it was delicious, and the wonton chips for the dip were clearly made in house. The prices were great too. I wish I lived in Hot Springs so I could eat here often. People who have a bad experience here must not know good food. Highly recommend!

The place had a fun wild west saloon look, and the service brought real southern hospitality. I didn't expect to find such a great Thai-Southern BBQ restaurant in mountainous North Carolina. The food was even better than the atmosphere and service: we had Trout Curry, Pork Spring Rolls, and Pork Ribs, and all three were 10 out of 10.

We were thrilled to find Iron Horse Station open on our second Hot Springs trip after the 2024 hurricane and flood. When we first came in 2025, they were still rebuilding. We ate dinner on Thursday 5/7/26, and I think the restaurant had only reopened that week. The wild boar spring rolls were yummy. Two of us ordered steaks and fries, cooked and seasoned just right, and the other had delicious shepherd's pie. We'll be glad to eat here again on our next trip, and maybe stay too. We love that little town.

We found Iron Horse Station thanks to a recommendation while hiking from Davenport to Hot Springs, and were so glad we stopped. The owners care about making people feel welcome and serving good food. There's a nicely varied menu with something to tempt and satisfy everyone, plus relaxing live music that makes you want to linger for dessert. If you get just one meal in Hot Springs, make it here. I bet you'd rearrange your schedule to come back for a second, especially for a serving of their bread pudding.
