Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Houghton

The breakfast was pretty basic, just scrambled eggs and biscuits with gravy, though there was a waffle if you wanted more sugar and carbs. The hotel looks fairly new, or maybe recently remodeled, which is a plus. But when we got to the sixth floor, there was a strong sewage smell in the hallway, and our room had it too. I assume there may be plumbing trouble in the hall or room. It was pretty gross in room 615. Please take care of it soon.

We ate at the observatory restaurant on the seventh floor, with lovely views of the river and ski hill. The bartender and waitress gave excellent service, and the food was delicious. We stayed Saturday night, and Luke checked us in. The front desk staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. We've owned hotels ourselves, and this is the nicest Hampton Inn we've seen. It's relatively new, spotless, and feels like they went the extra mile on the interior finishes.

The room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was very good. We were worn out and skipped the pool, though it was clean and looked inviting. The hot tub looked even better, but we called it a night and went to rest. The hotel has an unusual layout because it's built along a hillside: pool, hot tub, and some rooms on the first floor, gym and laundry on the second, lobby, check-in, and breakfast on the third, rooms on floors four through six, and a beautiful restaurant with good food on the seventh. Check-in was easy, even if it felt strange to have the lobby three floors above our room. All in all, a really good Hilton. Two thumbs up! 👍👍

It was really cold when we arrived, and we couldn't adjust the thermostat. The front desk said the building temperature was fixed and every room was set the same, and they offered us a blanket. I've never run into this at another hotel. If you want to control the temperature in your own room, I wouldn't recommend staying here.
