Houlton is a lovely little Northern Maine gem, and this place is right off I-95 with amenities close by. The rooms are clean and basic, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They redid the old restaurant. I preferred how it used to be, but the food is still good.

Everything we needed was nearby, and it’s a quiet place to stay. Breakfast was good. The restaurant was just okay, though our waitress was great. I ordered seafood and wasn’t impressed, but the others had burgers and said theirs were very good.

The room had lots of space and a layout I really liked, which made my stay comfortable. The front desk staff I met were pleasant and friendly. I was mostly happy with the stay, and it was better than I expected from the other reviews here. But I was there for work and ate in my room, so going from Sunday night to Wednesday morning with no housekeeping at all felt unnecessary. No fresh towels, and the trash wasn’t taken out. There were maybe 10 cars in the lot the whole time, so clean towels and trash service didn’t seem like too much to expect. Also, the fridge had been turned off, and there was a tray of water inside from the freezer defrosting.

The room was dated, but clean, and we were very happy with the Bistro. Breakfast was a letdown since there were no eggs or bacon. We also wished the TV had regular cable, but it only had streaming apps.

We made a last-minute January trip to look at property, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and after six inches of snow overnight, the lot had already been cleared before I left at 6 a.m. Breakfast tasted good, and there was a make-your-own waffle maker. The attached bistro had a great seafood platter, everything else I ordered was very good, and having beer on tap is always a plus.
