The restaurant is nice and the food is good, but I wouldn’t walk barefoot on the carpet. This is a two-star motel, and that’s about what you get. At $145 a night, it feels pricey for a place with 1980s furniture, carpet, and wallpaper. Nothing fancy, and I think it should be closer to $100. The place feels old throughout. The sheets had been washed, but didn’t really look clean to me. There were marks on the linden that I hope were from pens or markers. I stayed here four years ago, and the chairs in the room are the one thing they’ve upgraded since then. I know there aren’t many options around here, but if they’re charging what a Holiday Inn or Best Western costs, the place needs updating.

The food at the attached DOWN UNDER restaurant was amazing. We stayed at Shiretown inn and suites on our way to Newfoundland, and check-in was quick and easy. The rooms were clean and really comfortable. Staying here was the right choice.

Big thanks to Mrs. Linda and Mr. Josh for their excellent, professional, friendly customer service. Their patience and dedication to helping customers were outstanding. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

We got a room upstairs after the bed in our first room was broken right in the middle. The upstairs rooms are much nicer than downstairs, but when I told him about the bed and got a new room, he didn’t apologize at all, just said it happens. The restaurant was also closed on the Fourth of July.

It’s close to Timmy’s, WalMart, and the highway, and the desk staff were very nice. The room was clean. One bed was too hard, so we switched to the other, which was better. I had to call the office twice to get the air conditioning turned down. It’s the best-rated of the two places in town.
