La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Houston Bush Intl Airpt E

The whole floor smelled strongly of mold, and my room was even worse. There was what looked like grease on the bathroom door, hair in the bed, and a half-eaten granola bar, which made me question the cleanliness. I only booked this place because it was near the airport after my flight was cancelled, and I couldn’t reach anyone about the shuttle. It was a disgusting stay. Don’t recommend it, stay somewhere else.

The airport shuttle worked perfectly, the staff were friendly, and I was comfortable during my stay at La Quinta Inn Houston. I’d accidentally ended up with a duplicate booking charge. Even though the reservation was nonrefundable, the hotel refunded the extra charge, which I really appreciated. A very positive experience and great service.

The door to my room wouldn’t close properly, which raised a serious safety concern. The floor lamp by the window also didn’t work, leaving the room too dim at night, and the third floor had a lingering bad odor. After the first room smelled strongly of mildew, I had to move, but the second had a noticeable mildew smell too. There were large visible stains on the bedding and floors as well. The property seems poorly maintained and fell short on basic cleanliness, working features, and guest safety. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I gave it one star only because I couldn’t submit without adding one.

They got me on the 6am shuttle, which arrived around 6:05, and even gave me my room when I showed up a little before check-in. The place is a bit worn, but clean, and the room smelled nice. There’s a gas station and Burger King right next door, which made the location handy. I took off a star because the bathroom walls were stained and I could hear some noise from outside and upstairs.
