Motel 6 Houston, TX - Medical Center/NRG Stadium

Room 226 was in bad shape. The pool in the listing looked gorgeous, but it was abandoned and in disrepair. In the room, the bathroom door was badly warped and wouldn’t close, which wasn’t satisfactory even though I was alone. It was also very humid and smelled overwhelmingly of mildew or mold. I use a CPAP machine, and it didn’t help. There was no power for at least 2½ hours, so I gave up and found somewhere else to stay. I asked the front desk about a refund, but they said no because it wasn’t their fault, claiming someone had hit the transformer. I’ll talk to the manager tomorrow, and if they still won’t refund me, I’ll use my credit card purchase protection.

We were there for 15 days, and housekeeping only came twice. They didn’t even restock the towels. We had reserved an ADA accessible suite with a kitchen, but the first location’s room wasn’t ADA accessible. Motel 6 moved us to another location farther away, in a more run-down part of town. That room was ADA accessible but had no kitchen. The only lights were by the bed, so it was very dim. It was a horrible experience all around.

The room was clean, and that’s about all I can say for it. There was no refrigerator or microwave, and people were around all night. After staying a week, I asked to check out late at 12pm, but they refused. I had to leave work early and rush back for my things. Not cool. I won’t stay again.

I won’t bring myself or my family back here. The manager, or the woman with her hair in a brown and gold bun, was rude and disrespectful, and made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. If you’re visiting someone on the 16 beltway, definitely avoid this place.
