Red Roof Inn Houston - Brookhollow

I've stayed at a lot of Red Roofs around the country, and this is one of the best. The staff are always kind and helpful, and the parking lot feels safe with security. I try to stay here every time I'm in town.

The room was comfortable, with a modernized bathroom, and I came away with great memories. Staff were attentive, and the rooms were quite exceptional. Breakfast was continental and didn't look like much, but it was enough to take the edge off my hunger. Brooklyn also has plenty of breakfast spots to choose from.

I appreciated not having to put down a deposit, and the room itself was nice, spacious, clean, and had a couch and a very big TV. The problem is the roaches, which are a huge turnoff. Management moved me to another room, but that one had bugs too. If they get an exterminator in, then I'd recommend the place.

We needed somewhere affordable before moving into an apartment, but we lasted less than an hour before asking for our money back and leaving for another place. There was black mold on the walls, which is unsafe to breathe, especially for children, and can be fatal. The room smelled musty, old, moldy, and damp, like it hadn't been aired out for years. The toilet didn't work, and the shower was ancient. The space was small and cramped, and I wouldn't have felt safe alone there at night, especially with cockroaches. The internet was very slow, around 20 Mbps. The motel has an old router using an outdated frequency, while many motels offer speeds of 700 Mbps or more. The surroundings and residents seemed strange. For some reason, police had already arrived while we were there, and the office doors stayed closed for a long time. Outside was very dirty and poorly kept, and there was a strange smell.
