Reside Houston Downtown A Wyndham Residence

We barely had to go far for anything. Our walking tour guide met us across the street at Market Square, and the downtown art, places to eat, and spots for drinks were all easy to reach on foot. The room felt like a swanky city apartment, and the staff were the kindest. WOW, I’ll definitely come back.

I’ve been here for two weeks on a work trip as a musician, and it really feels like a relaxing home away from home. The downtown views make it feel like a mini vacation, and the location puts everything close by. It’s also welcoming to pets and kids, and the building feels very safe. The rooms are beautiful and spotless, with fresh linens. The whole property is better maintained than many higher-priced hotels I’ve stayed in. What really sets Reside Houston Downtown apart is the staff, from the front desk to housekeeping and maintenance. Every shift has been helpful and proactive, and people remember guests by name. They seem to care about everyone, not just the easy guests. A lot of credit goes to the staff and management for keeping things so comfortable and consistent. I’d absolutely stay again, and could even see myself living here long term.

The room was spacious and beautifully designed, and downtown was just a short walk away. The staff were welcoming and wonderful. I did find the room could’ve been cleaner: the coffee pot hadn’t been washed, and there was noticeable dust, especially under the bed. Still, it was a great stay at a great hotel.

We ended up leaving and booking another hotel. The Airbnb photos were misleading, since the place was much darker than advertised and felt dirty. Noise was constant through the paper-thin walls, and we had no running hot water during our stay. Customer service did respond, which I appreciated, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
