Maven, the coffee shop, was great. Hotel guests get 10% off, and my Pandan Matcha Latte cost 5 dollars. It was a little sweeter than I like, but still pretty good. I didn’t get to try the restaurant apart from the breakfast pastries, so I can’t comment on it yet. The front desk also helped us get breakfast items for an early suhoor during Ramadan. We waited a few hours for our room, but the service was amazing overall. The rooms were classy, and I’d say this is my favorite Thompson Hotel I’ve visited so far, with a great spot by the river and not far from downtown. Parker was a big help with the complimentary e-bikes and quickly handled any issues. I also used the 'House Car' to get to Shell Energy Stadium without any fuss. The catch is you can’t book it ahead, and they can’t pick you up. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone looking to enhance a Houston vacation.

We haven’t stayed overnight yet, but our visit downstairs left a strong impression and made us want to return for a full stay. The food, service, and atmosphere at Chardon suggested a high standard throughout Thompson Houston. Valet was convenient and smooth, and the whole arrival felt seamless. In the lobby, the scent set a polished, quietly sophisticated mood. The first-floor sculptures and carefully chosen decor made the space feel thoughtfully designed rather than generic. Emma at reception made check-in a delight, and we had a great conversation. The valet team and everyone downstairs were top notch. We had a wonderful birthday stay at Thompson Houston, a beautiful property with good amenities. There’s access to the large gym next door, plus discounts at the coffee shop downstairs. Staying here for my birthday was a great decision.

The rooms and decor felt modern and clean. If you can, ask for a downtown-facing room, the view is nice. We also liked the water stations on every floor, where you could fill up with sparkling or still water. We only stayed one night and didn’t get to use everything, but the gym and restaurant were good. The employees were warm, and valet was efficient. A note for anyone booking through Amex: the $65 valet charge couldn’t be paid with the $100 stay credit. I’d expected the credit to cover it, so that was disappointing, though it wouldn’t put me off choosing this hotel. Breakfast was the one service snag. On the Sunday morning we were there, the staff seemed overwhelmed, lines got long, and people looked upset. Lunch service was perfectly fine.

Anh was a very sweet, attentive breakfast waitress and kept checking that I was doing well, even though I was sitting outside alone. Joe the valet was kind-hearted, and Allison at the front desk was helpful. Everyone I met was gracious and friendly, and answered my questions patiently. The customer service really stood out. The Thompson is beautiful, with lovely design and spacious, spotless rooms. I had a wonderful stay and look forward to another staycation soon.
