The room had a persistent unpleasant smell that made it hard to feel comfortable. When we raised concerns, staff seemed dismissive instead of trying to sort things out. We also asked for clean towels and were told none were available. At a chain hotel, clean towels are a basic part of a stay, not a luxury. The electricity in our room kept going out just from using a curling iron. Having to reset the power while getting ready was frustrating and concerning. This combination of maintenance problems, missing basics, and poor service left me disappointed. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I expected better from a well-known chain and from basic hospitality. I hope management takes responsibility and fixes these issues so other guests don’t have the same experience.
The rooms have been spotless every time, and you can tell housekeeping takes pride in the work. The halls and lobby are clean, and the outside of the property is well kept too, which I always notice. For this price range, it’s rare to see this much consistency. Honestly, everyone here deserves a raise. I’ve been checking into this WoodSpring Hotel for five straight days and should’ve written sooner. The service has been friendly, consistent, and extremely helpful every day. Big shoutout to Nobi, Deborah, and Rachel. They’ve each gone above and beyond, patiently explaining things and making check-in smooth. They treat guests respectfully and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Management has some real gems on the team. The management is friendly and professional, and clearly runs the place the right way. This location stands out for its staff, cleanliness, and hospitality. Definitely recommend it if you’re in the area.
The beds were clean, though not very comfortable, especially if you have back issues. The room looked clean at first, but the toilet had visible residue and smelled unpleasant, so I had to clean it further myself. Convenient location for a quick weekend stay. I arrived after regular check-in hours and was checked in quickly by phone. Daily towel exchanges cost extra.
Deborah was great at check-in, informative and helpful, and made the process smooth. My problem came on the last day after a week there with my child and my man. My significant other went downstairs for another roll of toilet paper and came back without it. The man at the desk told him we couldn’t have any. He said the guy had an attitude and was rude to another guest who wanted to wash clothes too. I called down myself, and Zack was rude from the moment he picked up. I stayed calm. Zack is a white male, maybe in his late 20s or early 30s. He kept repeating “we can’t give you toilet paper” in a condescending tone. I asked whether they had run out or whether we weren’t allowed another roll. Then he said they didn’t have any, which could’ve been the answer the first time. It’s hard to believe a hotel in Houston in the middle of a winter freeze would have none. Paying customers shouldn’t be treated this way. I’d been looking forward to coming back, but not if I have to deal with this person.
Guests shouldn’t have to put up with noise all day. The front desk says they can only do something after 10pm, so if the person above you is making noise from 9am to 9pm, you’re stuck with it. Even when I reported it at 10pm and they said they’d speak to the guest, nothing changed. The person kept making noise and letting their child run and stomp across the floor. You can also hear guests fighting and screaming at each other down the hall. I’ve told front desk staff about the problems, but they don’t want to handle them. Why should guests have to deal with the daily drama and shenanigans? This needs to get better. They seem to care only about money and getting payments, not making sure guests can have some peace. It shouldn’t matter what time of day it is. If a guest is disturbing others, why let it continue? Make it make sense. That’s dumb and bad for business. This place is not all that.
