Baymont by Wyndham Howell/Brighton

We had the executive suite for Valentine’s Day, and the pool was clean and just the right temperature. Our room was comfortable, clean, and stocked with the products we needed. The manager was friendly and checked that we were enjoying the stay. There was also a big jetted tub in the room that made it easy to relax, plus a balcony overlooking the pool. 10/10.

The pool was quiet and felt almost private, which our kids loved. The whole place had a calm, relaxing feel, and the staff and management were helpful and easy to reach. We stayed four nights with family and came away very happy. It seems suited to family trips, but could also work for business stays or larger groups.

I booked a room with two queen beds, and both beds had stains. The yellow and red marks on the one I was using were bright, while the second bed looked even worse. I asked the manager for fresh sheets, a pillow, and a comforter. He rolled his eyes, asked why I couldn't just use the other bed, then told me to bring the bedding out of the room. After that, he disappeared for the night. The receptionist understood and said she thought I should get a refund, but couldn't approve it herself, so I was told I'd have to wait until the next day. She tried to find another room, but that one had stains too. I don't live here, so why should I have to stay? I contacted customer service because I wasn't sure I'd get the refund. This was my second hotel booking in three days that ended in a refund, and the manager had told me they were very understaffed. Why did he clock out while a customer still had a complaint? I'm not having it.

The pool was a hit with our kids. It was warm and well maintained, and breakfast had good options. Baymont by Wyndham Howell also felt spotless and welcoming, with a safe, family-friendly atmosphere and plenty of parking. The outlet mall is nearby, which is handy for shopping. We had a great stay and would recommend it to families or anyone wanting comfort, convenience, and friendly hospitality.
