Nautical Nest

We found plenty to do nearby, with shops, galleries, cafes, and all sorts of things to explore around Hudson. The owners were warm and welcoming, and clearly wanted guests to feel at home. The Nautical Nest is in a great part of town, with charming, cozy rooms that are exceptionally clean and thoughtfully put together. It’s also very affordable for the location, and a balcony, if you choose a room with one, adds a bit of magic. We did occasionally hear a church bell, though I thought it gave the place character. Dining nearby can be a little pricey, but the room rate makes up for it. I’d absolutely come back.

We came for a quiet midweek break in the middle of winter and felt right at home. The building is peaceful and beautifully decorated, and our balcony was a private, restful place to sit outside. There are lots of places within walking distance, and parking nearby was easy with plenty of options. Nautical Nest has the comfort of a traditional hotel with a homey B&B feel. We’ll return for another restful stay.

(2025 Dec) I really enjoyed my stay and had booked Suite 1 on the ground floor and Suite 4 upstairs. Both rooms were clean, spacious, warm, and nicely decorated, with a comfortable, homely feel. There’s a small kitchenette on the ground floor with fruit, snacks, a kettle, and mugs. Check-in went smoothly after support staff promptly fixed my incorrect code, no fuss. The location is great, and St Florian across the street was a lovely place for evening drinks. I’d strongly recommend staying here. I’d originally booked The Wick (Marriott), then switched to Nautical Nest, and was disappointed.

The location is hard to beat. I left my car parked all weekend and got around on foot. My room at Nautical Nest was spacious and comfortable, with lovely decor and details like a bar cart and desk. The complimentary coffee, tea, oatmeal, and snacks were a nice extra. A great place to stay in Hudson.
