Holiday Inn Express & Suites Jacksonville South - I-295

The free food was decent, though the other food was mediocre. The dining room was kept really clean, and when we had no hot water for our shower one morning, they promptly refunded half the cost without making us argue for it. We appreciated that. We've stayed before and will probably be back twice a year on our regular trips. It's a good place for the price, and a business that makes an effort to put things right makes a difference.

I spent four nights here and thought it was great value. My ground-floor room faced away from the freeway, so it stayed quiet and clean. The bedding and towels were comfortable and fresh, the staff were nice, and the hot breakfast was A+.

Angel made my stay at the Holiday Inn Express feel easy from the moment I arrived. They were welcoming, attentive, and handled both my quick questions and special request with a smile. Everything was taken care of efficiently and professionally, which made the visit memorable. Service like that deserves a thank you.

I was eventually told to check out and leave, and no one would explain why. I'm a veteran, and the hotel wouldn't even give me a reason. I would warn veterans and people currently serving against staying at this Holiday Inn Express. The night before, I was sitting in my truck outside, talking to a friend, when a man who looked homeless stopped nearby and acted as if he was reaching for a gun to shoot me. About five minutes later, a woman ran up saying a man had assaulted her. Her description matched the man I'd seen. I walked with her toward her car, then told her to call the police. A fire truck, ambulance, and police arrived while I was back on the phone with my friend. Later, I went to the officers and identified the man, but they didn't want to hear what I had to say. The next morning I took a cup of breakfast coffee to my truck. I saw the same man go into the Holiday Inn and come back out with a plate from the breakfast buffet. After I left to run errands for a few hours and returned, the hotel told me to check out. I had stayed multiple nights. I'd give it -50 stars if I could.
