Quality Inn Jacksonville near Camp Lejeune

We had a double room that smelled and looked dingy. The lamps were rusty, we killed two roaches, and there were patched spots on the walls by the bathtub and TV. The sheets and towels were stained too. I don't see how this place has a 3.8 rating, it doesn't meet that standard. First and last time for me. I took pictures, but there wasn't a way to attach them to this review.

The pillows and fabrics were nice, and the stairwell was in good shape. Staff outside housekeeping were okay. The rest was rough: there was a dried dead roach behind the bathroom door, and housekeeping knocked nonstop for 20 minutes as I was trying to leave, even after I told several people to stop. Some mornings breakfast had really cheap muffins, and the milk looked visibly yellow and put me off. The elevator floor was sticky too.

It was affordable, but I wouldn't suggest it for families unless you book a king room. We had two rooms, one with double beds and one with a king. We looked at three double-bed rooms, and each was old and smelled. In the one we chose, both beds had dirty sheets with brown stains, mold, and makeup. They had no clean spare sheets, so we had to get our own. The king room was much nicer and more comfortable.

My kids had only just arrived at this motel, exhausted and crying, when the front desk attendant accused them of being left alone with babies in the room. She hadn't seen Chris, my son, who had come to help them unpack for their week there. On the phone, she basically called me a liar when I explained he was with them. Chris went to the desk to confirm it, where she was speaking with the manager. Apparently Megan had signed a no-pet form without realizing her little bearded dragon counted as a pet. They threatened to put the kids out in the cold and charge $100. The attendant told them to quiet the kids or face a noise complaint and be made to leave. She said the manager would handle it the next day, so the kids are leaving, and it's cold out. They won't get a refund until management can deal with it. These kids are homeless after losing absolutely everything to black mold in their home.
