Red Roof Inn Baldwin

The hotel was quiet, even with the highway nearby and a train yard across the street. I only heard a couple of guests coming and going, and the other guests were cordial and friendly. I flew in for an event (2/28-3/2) and changed hotels because I wanted to be closer to it. I wasn’t sure about booking online through a third party or speaking to the front desk, so I explained that to the clerk, who worked out a deal I was happy with. The room was clean, the staff friendly, and it had a big TV, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There’s easy access to either direction of the highway. I walked to dinner at the Waffle House, and next door there’s a Pilot gas and truck stop/subway where I got fruit and water. The continental breakfast is simple, very basic. There’s also a pizza place and Arby’s nearby. I drove out to the beaches and a yoga studio in Jacksonville, about 34 mins away, and found them easily. There’s plenty to do there. I’d recommend it as a safe, budget-friendly place to stay while passing through.

The people were friendly, and the sheets were very clean, so we stayed even though the stained bedspread wasn’t a great first impression. The bathroom floor definitely needed a good mop. We stopped here on our way to Florida. It could be a very nice place if it weren’t so dirty.

After a long day driving, we stopped at the last minute and were lucky to get one of the final two rooms. The staff were wonderful, and the room was spotless, quiet, and dog-friendly. There’s free breakfast, but sadly we didn’t have time to enjoy it. Restaurants are close by, which made the location really convenient. It was a great stay when we needed one.

I was nervous after staying at another poorly kept Red Roof, but this one turned out to be the nicest motel I’ve ever been in. It was clean, comfortable, and peaceful, with amazing service. I’m so thankful, and I’d definitely stay again and recommend it.
