That burger was disappointing. It looked great in the photos but didn't have much flavor, and the small bit of bone marrow wasn't worth the extra $10 or so. It needed salt, ketchup and mayo, and a bun with less bread. I won't remember this burger. The onion soup was wonderful compared with a lot I've tried, and the trout dip was nice. Our server was also excellent, so kind and helpful.

The menu may look limited, but Abigail explained the dishes really well, and everything we ordered was excellent. We especially liked the potato crock, chicories and chestnuts salad, and wild boar bourguignon, which was an amazing take on pot roast. My favorite was the Appalachian onion soup, similar to French onion soup, though I think even better. We had dinner at Wm Farmer & Sons on a Wednesday in February, and it far surpassed our expectations. Abigail was attentive, the cocktails were delicious, and it was the best meal we had in the Hudson/Catskill area that week.

The atmosphere was nice, the service was fine, and the cocktails were a hit. Their ginger beer is right on point, and the trout dip was awesome. But please tell people that the fish and chips comes as a whole fish with its head and bones. I'd never seen it served that way, and the menu or server should explain the preparation. I was taken aback by the head and by having to use my fingers to get the meat off the bones for that rustic experience.

Every staff member was so kind, thoughtful and accommodating when we brought our dog at the last minute. We stayed in the Schooner Suite, and between their care and how much was provided, we didn't want to leave. Before heading back to our room, we had delicious burgers and oysters in the restaurant, which felt intimate but still lively and welcoming. We were celebrating a birthday during the stay, and the whole experience felt absolutely magical. I can't imagine how they could have made it any more incredible. Thank you to the entire staff.
