The room was clean and roomy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, too. The location worked well for everything we wanted to see, and if you have kids, there’s a lovely park sharing the parking lot. I’d definitely recommend this place.

The room was clean and the beds were okay, but the noise made it hard to sleep. I’m a light sleeper and, as a Hilton Honors Gold member, had asked for a quiet room. We were put at the end of the hall, yet someone in the neighboring room kept banging on the walls. After that stopped, there was more banging or stomping, maybe from the exit stairwell door. The Friday night staff member around 8 PM was wonderful, really sweet and helpful. The breakfast was disappointing: aside from yogurt and oatmeal, it was all pork, with no vegetarian options or potatoes. When we checked out the next day, the front desk woman was pretty rough in the way she answered my question. There’s a little park by the hotel, which could be handy for families with young kids.

Four days after we got home, my cousin and I took extra care to wash and dry all our clothes and belongings right away, hoping to prevent any insects from spreading. Even so, I later found a bed bug in my own bed and started getting bites. I’ve since stayed with a friend and a family member, and now I’m worried the problem may have spread further. Dealing with the infestation has caused stress and unexpected costs. This all started during our Texas vacation. My cousin had chosen the hotel because she’d had a good stay before, but this visit was very different. The hotel and staff seemed pleasant overall, and we had a room with two beds. Then my cousin found a bug in her bed and woke up the next morning with multiple bites. When we told the front desk, the manager moved us but insisted it wasn’t a bed bug. Whatever kind of insect it was, it shouldn’t have been there, and my cousin had clearly been bitten. After we reported it, there was no visible effort to inspect or secure the first room or to show that guest safety was being taken seriously. The manager offered loyalty points, but they never appeared in my cousin’s account. I wouldn’t expect this from a Hilton property. At a minimum, the situation should have been acknowledged and there should have been suitable compensation for the trouble, distress, and financial impact.

The breakfast seemed to be the same food from a couple of days earlier, with nothing new put out. The hotel allows dogs, but the hallway floors smelled like dog urine, and the cleaning didn’t seem to match the policy. The walls are very thin, too. This has happened before: I was only out at Whataburger, four minutes away, and came back at 11:05 am to find someone inside my room cleaning even though checkout was at 12. I usually go downstairs to tell them when I’m checking out. The elevators also don’t work, and when the key card machine failed, an employee had to walk me to my room.

I was here for work and found the room cozy but spacious, with a cute little living area and a huge window, easily a 10-plus. The lighting was great, and I loved having charger connections built into the lamps. The AC worked phenomenally, the fridge was great, and the bed and soft pillows were very comfortable. The shower had plenty of room and the water temperature was just right. The microwave needs attention, though, because it wouldn’t heat my food.
