We woke up with what looked like bed bug bites. When we reported it, the front desk receptionist argued that they couldn’t have bed bugs because the hotel didn’t get enough business. We asked for a refund and were refused. She told us to call back in the afternoon to speak with the manager, who then said to have my lawyer contact his and that they would not refund us. Also, people were selling drugs out of the parking lot while hotel staff watched, which could put anyone in a dangerous situation. Very disappointing.

We only stayed because snow and ice left us stuck. There was no breakfast, and it still cost $70. The fridge didn’t work, the deadbolt was broken, and staples were holding a hole in the wallpaper. Worst place ever.

The rooms were excellent and the people were friendly. My only wish is that they offered weekly rates, which is why I’m giving it four stars.

Deerfield Inn & Humboldt Hotel is the same place. For the price, it’s decent for dropping your bags and getting some sleep. There aren’t any special extras on site, but amenities are close in every direction. I’d pick it over Heritage Inn. I’d call it mediocre, since I’ve stayed in places both much better and much worse.
