Huntington Beach Inn

The location is perfect, but the hotel is chaos. The staff seem very poorly trained, and the property has apparently been a construction site since 2022, something you only find out when you arrive. They were changing pipes over customers’ cars. Our room was dingy and dirty, with unclean windows looking out over a broken roof. When we asked to move, they said it would cost another $300 for the same room with a tiny balcony. I’m sure the hotel changed hands and the new owners have run it into the ground. Such a shame. I’m happy to give more details to anyone who needs them.

The front desk staff were kind and understanding when I had a personal mishap, and the room had everything we needed for a nice beach weekend: a fridge, microwave, TV, and a comfortable bed. The location is amazing, right on the water, with downtown Huntington just up the street. The beach right in front of the hotel was less crowded than the area closer to the pier, and it was easy to walk around with lots to do. I got my room deposit back within a few days of checkout. We had an amazing stay, and I highly recommend this hotel.

The location is awesome, and I’d stay here again. Our room had been fixed up nicely, though it wasn’t the cleanest I’ve stayed in. The front desk let us leave our bags before check-in, which was helpful, but it took several calls to get anyone to answer before we arrived. There’s construction at the hotel and next door, so be aware.

There’s construction going on, and the elevator took far too long for a one-floor ride. I also didn’t expect the view to be someone’s backyard when I opened the curtains. I thought it would face the beach. The mattresses, bed frame, and pillows really need replacing. The bed squeaked, and the bed and pillows left my neck and upper back hurting. I also think parking should be included with the room. I’ve stayed at several places, and this is the only one that charged a separate parking fee.
