SureStay by Best Western Huntsville University Area

The location felt quiet and safe, across from University of Alabama Huntsville, UAH, with no strangers hanging around outside like at some motels farther down the highway. The desk clerk was courteous and professional. There was plenty of light from the many bright white bulbs, not those dim, yellow lights you get at some places. The heat and air filters were clean, and the carpet had some wear but looked very clean. Hot water came almost instantly, with plenty for a long shower. The towels could use fabric softener, so bring your own if that matters to you.

I couldn’t comment honestly on the smell because my nose was stuffed. But the location felt sketchy, the sheets were dirty, there was dirt under the bed, and the bathroom had strange stains all over. They left us just one bar of soap and nothing else. We travel a lot, and after booking based on all the good reviews, this was the first time I felt misled. I don’t know how it has 4.5-star reviews. For $10 more, you could stay somewhere much better.

It’s a modest motel that’s run really well. Management is so friendly and eager to help, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. The WiFi is decent, parking is plentiful, and the water pressure and temperature are good. Breakfast is on the simple side. I’d happily stay again.

I stay here regularly when I’m working in the area. The owners are always on top of things, and I can’t say enough good things about them. The whole place is immaculate, the area is safe and quiet, and it’s close to everything on University. They’re always friendly and accommodating to me.
